A Certificate of Candidacy must be filed in person either at the State Board of Elections or the local board of elections depending on the office sought. The deadline to file Certificate of Candidacy is December 3, 2007.
Delegates to the National Convention must file their Certificate of Candidacy in person at the State Board of Elections. However, from November 26 to December 3, the State Board of Elections will permit the filing for Delegate at the Washington and Wicomcio Board of Elections. No other local board of elections will accept a filing for Delegate. Please see the 2008 Convention Delegates Filing Requirments document for more information.

A candidate who seeks nomination by petition must submit a petition signed by not less than 1% of the total number of registered voters eligible to vote for that office. The following are the number of signatures required for that elective office.
