How to Cast Your Ballot

You will cast your vote on a voting system certified for use in Maryland. Information on how to use the voting system will be available at each polling place. You may ask an election judge to explain how to vote on the voting system, but unless you are unable to do so because of a disability or inability to write or read the ballot, you alone must cast your vote.

Since Maryland's voting system for polling place voting is accessible for most voters, most voters with disabilities are able to vote independently on Maryland's voting system. If you have a disability or are unable to write or read the ballot, you may select someone to assist you. By law, your employer, an agent of your employer, or an officer or agent of your union is not allowed to assist you. An election judge may assist you, but only in the presence of another election judge of a different political party.
